As we reported earlier, the Ukrainian military is withdrawing troops in Vovchansk and Lukyantsi.
The chief patrol officer of the Vovchansk police department in Kharkiv – Oleksii Kharkivskyi – posted a video on social media where he confirmed Russian troops were taking up positions in the city.
“We are here, evacuating people and helping everyone,” he said. “The situation in Vovchansk is extremely difficult.
“The enemy is holding positions on the streets of Vovchansk, so please evacuate. We are helping everyone, we are working on the spot, together we will win,” he said.
“Glory to Ukraine,” Kharkivskyi added.
