Indonesia legislature scraps election law changes after protests

Indonesian lawmakers cancelled plans to ratify election law changes after thousands protested in Jakarta and other big cities. The legislation would have reversed rulings by the Constitutional Court and enhanced the influence of outgoing President Joko Widodo. Critics said the changes were aimed at installing a political dynasty.
