Protests after Israeli soldiers detained over Palestinian abuse

Protesters surrounded military bases and clashed with police over the detention of nine Israeli soldiers accused of “substantial abuse” of a Palestinian prisoner. Hours after the protests, a new UN report said Palestinians were being tortured in Israeli jails.
