Later in the show we’ll be hearing from Chris Stark, head of the Climate Change Committee.

We’re expecting to hear Stark share his thoughts on the UK’s approach to climate change, after he told the BBC that Rishi Sunak’s decision to slow down on some net zero policies had “set us back”.

In an interview that will be broadcast in full later in the programme, he said the prime minister had “clearly not” prioritised the issue as much as his predecessors.

Stark said the country had made enormous progress towards reaching the climate target of net zero by 2050 under Theresa May and Boris Johnson.

A government spokesperson said: “Our record on net zero speaks for itself.”

You can watch the full interview during this morning’s programme, but in the meantime, you can find Laura’s write up here.
